Bournemouth University’s innovative and interactive Internet Radio Station – BIRSt broadcasts entirely on the internet where visitors can choose from a range of pre-recorded programmes - from drama to features to comedy to experimental material and music - with some programmes produced by the university’s international students in their own languages.

Over the years, BIRSt has introduced a number of broadcasting innovations including the creation of the world’s first ‘Bouncing Story’ jointly created by Bournemouth students and their counterparts at Ryerson University in Toronto, Canada.

Regular BIRst contributors include Alan Brown, Jacquline Curthoys, David Dodd, Hanah Edney, Murray Freeman, Yi-Tong Guo, Alex Leam, Matthias Magnusson, Paul Mann, Jamie Mitchell, Marguerite Reinig, Victoria Sherwin, John Traynor, Maisa Van Onselen and Sean Street.
